The Fire and Police Commission Board is in charge of all appointments to the police departments. It conducts and holds entrance and promotion examinations, both written and physical. The board consists of three members appointed by the Village President. The members are appointed for three years, on staggered terms. The meetings of the board are held on a regular basis, the dates and times of which are posted in the village hall.
Zoning Board of Appeals
The board consists of seven members appointed by the village president and approved by the board of trustees. It is the duty of this board to hear and decide any order, decision or interpretation of the zoning ordinance. All meetings of the board are open to the public. The board reviews all appeals and then makes recommendation of action to the Board of Trustees of the zoning ordinance. All meetings of the board are open to the public. Emergency Telephone Systems Board (ETSB)
The ETS Board is the governing body for the 9-1-1 system. It co-ordinated and supervised the implementation of the system and is responsible for the maintenance of the system and also supervises the receipts and disbursements of 9-1-1 funds. The ETS Board consists of five members, appointed by the president, with advice and consent of the Board of Trustees. The ETS Board keeps written records of its proceedings which are available for public inspection.
