FORM OF GOVERNMENT

The village is governed by a President and six Trustees. The Village Trustees are elected at large and serve for a term of four years, with three Trustees slated for election at two year intervals. The President is the chief executive officer and is elected to a four year term. The Village Clerk is the custodian of all official records for the village and is also elected to a four year term. There is no village manager. Board meetings are open to the public and are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 p.m.

The village adopted home rule in November 5, 1974. There are approximately 3,355 voters registered in the village.
